Old Guy Concert Pro

I went to my first concert February 11, 1982. Hall & Oates with Aldo Nova at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh. Since then, I’ve gone to well over a thousand concerts, sporting events, plays, musicals, comedy shows and other live events. It’s my lifeblood - I can’t imagine going too long without seeing live entertainment.

Doing so, it’s also best when you have great seats. When I was growing up, that meant sleeping out overnight outside the record store to be lucky enough to score prime tickets. The internet has made it so venues are able to price events dynamically, and people (and robots) all over the world are able to grab almost any seat you want if you’re willing to pay what the market will bear.

That said, there are ways to get great seats without breaking the bank for platinum tickets. I’ll share some secrets that might help you along the way, as well as tips on seeing live entertainment in my hometown of Pittsburgh.

Take a look at my view from live events which I’ve attended here.
